A consultative meeting of stakeholders that develop the national e-agriculture strategy was held at the Ministry of Food Agriculture and Light Industry. Minister Ulaan, FAO Representative Vinod Ahuja, and Programme Coordinator at the International Telecommunications Union Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific Ashish Narayan gave remarks at the start of the meeting. The national e-agriculture strategy is to be of assistance in defining the best e-solutions to create favorable environment to reach the objectives that were set by the Government of Mongolia in the agricultural sector, to enhance the results of measures that have been taken, and improve its infrastructure, policy and regulations alongside defining the necessity and demands of the sector and assess the preparedness of the information and communications sector. This time consultative meeting targeted to discuss, assess and finalize the project to develop the national e-agriculture strategy, receive suggestions from each sub-sector of the agricultural sector and include it in the strategy, develop a work plan to implement priorities of the strategy and receive proposals, and define priorities of the solutions for e-agriculture.
