533 new cases, seven COVID-19-related deaths reported
Daily COVID-19 press briefing for today, May 17, by the Ministry of Health, reported that 533 new coronavirus cases were detected in the past 24 hours across the country.
In specific, 490 new cases were confirmed in Ulaanbaatar city, six were hospital-acquired cases, and 37 cases were detected in rural regions. As a result, the nationwide infection tally is now 49,175.
In the last 24 hours, 1065 patients made recovery, making the total recoveries 41,844. As of May 17, a total of 4,087 coronavirus patients are being treated at hospitals in Ulaanbaatar city and the rural aimags. Among them, 115 patients are in serious conditions, reports the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD).
The NCCD also reported seven new COVID-19 related deaths, raising the country's death toll to 214.
