The Government of Mongolia declared 2023 and 2024 as "Years to Visit Mongolia" to promote the tourism sector.

The Government of Mongolia declared 2023 and 2024 as "Years to Visit Mongolia" to promote the tourism sector. Under this National Campaign, all provinces have been hosting their special local tourism events since the beginning of this year. Dundgobi province is striving to create its own tourism brands, identifying the province’s strongest and most competitively appealing assets in the eyes of its prospective visitors. Thus, the aimag organized Tourism Forum last year and determined their policy and goals to support the tourism sector. To that extent, they have established a Tourist Information center to provide tourists with information on the aimag's attractions, lodgings, maps, and other items relevant to tourism and a “Made in Dundgobi” shop where visitors can buy local products. In addition, a mobile application for visitors is under development. Two major events are scheduled for this Summer and Autumn in Dundgobi province. One of the high-rated and most-awaited events in the great Gobi is the “CELESTIAL EUNOIA” Cultural Stargazing Event in Dornogobi. This exclusive ecotourism event aims at delivering visitors authentic cultural experiences, ranging from stargazing, to capturing the essence of the sunrises on the White Stupa cliff and visiting the museums and galleries of historical and cultural artifacts. Last year, visitors had a chance to witness the rare alignment of five planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The “Celestial EUNOIA-2023” is scheduled on June 24-25 in Gobi Caravanserai Lodge this year. Additionally, “The Sun Over the Placid World” music festival which gives chance to personally see the pristine wilderness and iconic natural formations of the great Gobi Desert and different forms of arts, is scheduled between August 10 and 11.
