Mongolian President Meets Mongolian Community in Chicago
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met with representatives of the Mongolian community during his visit to Chicago.
At the meeting, President Khurelsukh gave an overview of Mongolia’s socio-economic situation, foreign policy initiatives, and the implementation of major national programs, including the “Food Revolution,” “Billions of Trees,” “Healthy Mongolian,” “White Gold,” and “President’s Scholar-2100” initiatives. Addressing Mongolians living, working, and studying in the United States, the President called on them to respect local laws, maintain unity, and uphold the reputation of Mongolia. He also stressed the importance of passing the Mongolian language, history, culture, and traditions on to younger generations and helping children maintain a strong connection with their homeland. More than 40,000 Mongolians currently reside in the United States, with over 20,000 living in Chicago. President Khurelsukh recalled that, during his tenure as Prime Minister, he made the decision to establish a Consulate General of Mongolia in Chicago to provide consular services and protect the rights and interests of Mongolian citizens. He concluded the meeting by wishing the Mongolian community good health and prosperity and calling for continued unity and cooperation for the development of Mongolia. During the meeting, President Khurelsukh also presented state honors and prestigious titles to several distinguished Mongolian citizens in recognition of their contributions.
