Japanese Executives Perform Wadaiko in Ulaanbaatar
. A Japanese wadaiko ensemble made up of business executives performed alongside Mongolian teenagers at the Mongolian Children’s Palace in Ulaanbaatar on Friday.
The free public concert brought together the Hero’s Club Wadaiko Team from Japan and the Children’s Palace’s “Nuudel” national music ensemble. The event was co-organized by World U Academy, Hero’s Club, and the Mongolian Children’s Palace, with support from the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia. The Hero’s Club Wadaiko Team is unique in that its members are serving presidents and chief executives of small and medium-sized companies across Japan. Through traditional Japanese drumming, the group promotes social impact, cultural exchange, and international friendship. The organizers said music has the power to connect people beyond language barriers and expressed hope that the concert would contribute to strengthening friendship between Japan and Mongolia. The Ulaanbaatar performance is part of the group’s broader Yamato Project, a long-term social revitalization initiative focusing on agriculture, education, culture, and the economy. The ensemble has previously performed at historic sites across Japan and in countries including the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.
