The agreements mark a further step in strengthening relations between Mongolia and Belarus through political dialogue and practical cooperation across multiple sectors.

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh met with senior parliamentary officials of Belarus during his state visit to Minsk on October 26, discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation.

President Khurelsukh met Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, and Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives. He highlighted the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in developing relations based on friendship and mutual trust. Both Belarusian officials expressed their readiness to support closer ties between the two countries’ legislatures.

The state visit also resulted in nine cooperation documents covering areas including trade, agriculture, industry, sports, customs, education, regional development and broadcasting.

The two countries signed a roadmap for bilateral cooperation for 2027 to 2029, outlining plans to expand political, economic, agricultural, scientific, educational and cultural ties. Additional agreements aim to increase agricultural trade, promote industrial cooperation and strengthen collaboration between regional authorities.

The Mongolian National Broadcaster and Belarusian Television and Radio Company also signed a cooperation agreement to exchange television and radio content and develop joint productions.

During the visit, President Khurelsukh and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko exchanged instruments of ratification of the Treaty on Friendly Relations and Cooperation between Mongolia and Belarus. Signed during President Lukashenko’s visit to Mongolia in June 2024, the treaty has now entered into force, providing a framework for expanding cooperation in various fields.

The agreements mark a further step in strengthening relations between Mongolia and Belarus through political dialogue and practical cooperation across multiple sectors.
