President discusses relations with Wang Yi

President Battulga Khaltmaa of Mongolia met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Government Palace in Ulaanbaatar. As the year of 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Mongolia-China diplomatic relations, the Mongolian side stands ready to, meticulously design and arrange commemorative activities, and take this opportunity to make bilateral friendship get deeper into the hearts of the two peoples, and to elevate bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to new stages. With vast territory and abundant resources, Mongolia is at a critical stage of national development and construction. Mongolia is willing to further strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in such fields as agriculture, animal husbandry, economy and trade, tourism, and infrastructure construction, in a bid to drive its own development and benefit the two peoples. The Mongolian side is one of the first countries to support the Belt and Road Initiative. The joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative has opened up broad prospects for the two countries to deepen cooperation. Wang Yi expressed that the Chinese side is willing to, strengthen connectivity, earnestly improve people's livelihood, promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and constantly advance trilateral cooperation among China, Mongolia and Russia under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Chinese side supports the Mongolian side in constantly upgrading the level of its cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It is hoped that China and Mongolia will expedite the negotiations on the signing of the free trade agreement, so as to bring tangible benefits to the two peoples at an early date. On the same day, Wang Yi also met with Chairman of the State Great Hural Enkhbold Miyegombo of Mongolia and held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Tsogtbaatar Damdin of Mongolia.
