Khaan Quest is an annual, multinational and multicomponent training exercise designed to promote regional peace and security.

Khaan Quest is an annual, multinational and multicomponent training exercise designed to promote regional peace and security. Held in Mongolia for a week in the summer, it brings together over a dozen foreign militaries to engage in the sharing of practices for multinational peacekeeping operations. In the exercise, personnel gain United Nations peacekeeper training as well as certification for support of peacekeeping operations. According to Mongolian Armed Forces Chief of Staff "Khaan Quest has become one of the signature training events for the participating nations and one of the biggest peacekeeping exercise in the world."

Since its establishment in 2003, it has been held in the Five Hills Training Area. It only became an international exercise in 2006, originally being a joint exercise between the Mongolian Armed Forces and the United States Indo-Pacific Command.

Over the last two decades the Khann Quest exercise has evolved into a highly significant and impactful multinational training event, bringing together more then 21,000 military professionals from 67 different countries.

On June 14, Khaan Quest 2025 kicked off at the Five Hills Training Facility near Ulaanbaatar as soldiers from the Mongolian Armed Forces hosted United Nations participants from more than 20 different countries at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony featured traditional Mongolian music and a dance performance, along with soldiers in ceremonial garb. This year marks the 22nd iteration of Khaan Quest. Over 1,300 participants took part in the exercise from the United States, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Thailand, South Korea, Egypt, Qatar, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, France, Egypt, East Timor, China, Canada, Bhutan and New Zealand.

This year, realistic scenario-based training concentrated on peacekeeping operations with realistic training scenarios involving humanitarian organizations and host nation partners. More than just training, participants are encouraged to partake in multicultural events and forge friendships.

The Indian Armed Forces actively participated in the ongoing multinational exercise 'Khaan Quest 2025' at the Five Hills Training Area near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Focused on interoperability, counter-IED tactics, and civil-military coordination, the exercise highlights India's commitment to global peacekeeping and strengthens its defence ties with Mongolia, following the recent Nomadic Elephant 2025 drill. The Indian contingent, comprising 40 personnel, is primarily represented by troops from a battalion of the Kumaon Regiment, along with members from other arms and services. Notably, the team includes one woman officer and two women soldiers, reflecting the Indian Army's commitment to gender inclusivity.

Khaan Quest training exercise completely catches the proficiency, knowledge, experience, discipline and endurance of peacekeepers. It features both command post and field training exercises focused on reinforcing UN standards across the forces and unilateral understanding.
