EU TRAM project steering committee convenes

Densmaa 2021-04-05 01:04

The steering committee of the European Union’s Trade Related Assistance for Mongolia (TRAM) project held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 1.

The committee reviewed the actions taken in 2020 and the plan for actions to be undertaken until the project is completed in July.

The EU TRAM project with three components, trade policy, trade facilitation, and export development, has been implemented since 2017 in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Mongolian Customs, General Agency for Specialized Inspection, Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology, National Development Agency, and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

As a result of the project, certain outcomes have been achieved in trade policy improvement and facilitation and enhancement of coordination and upskilling of stakeholders. Moreover, the project has provided concrete support to public and private sectors in facilitating trade by coping with challenging issues and developing export clusters, and putting their products on the international market.

Mongolia has made its proposal to implement the second phase of the project.
