"Pearson English" Program Implemented in Schools
Since the beginning of 2023, Mongolia started to test the Pearson English Learning Program in 38 public schools.
Since the beginning of 2023, Mongolia started to test the Pearson English Learning Program in 38 public schools. In the 2023 academic year students of grades V-VI were enrolled in the Program. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the Pearson English Program will be implemented in grades III-VII. The Pearson English program aims to minimize the gap in the quality of education through e-learning platforms. Several measures such as improving infrastructure, using smart classrooms, and providing teachers with computers are carried out in stages. By the third quarter of the 2023-2024 academic year, the results of the projects, implemented in collaboration with Google, will be assessed. Minister of Education and Science L. Enkh-Amgalan and other officials held a meeting with the representatives of the Pearson company and the parties agreed to cooperate in the re-training of English teachers, to make English teaching interesting for Mongolian students, and support the activities of professional teachers' associations. Moreover, based on an assessment of the progress of the Pearson English program, training on improving teaching methodology will be organized for specialists in the Department of Education and Science of the capital and aimags. The Pearson BTEC qualification program in vocational education is taught in 5 schools, from which the students graduate with international professional diplomas recognized in 81 countries around the world.
