Altargana Buryat festival took place
International Buryat National festival “Altargana-2016” is being held in Ulan-Ude, capital city of the Republic of Buryatia, Russia.
International Buryat National festival “Altargana-2016” is being held in Ulan-Ude, capital city of the Republic of Buryatia, Russia. Ethnic Buryats from all over the world are participating in the ‘XII Altargana’ festival. Traditional songs, folktales, competitions of skill and strength for Buryat men, and the ‘Dangina’ beauty contest are part of the festival. Since 1994, the ‘Altargana’ festival of the Buryats has been organized every two years with increasing diversity. Over the past years the festival was hosted in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region of China and in eastern Khentii province of Mongolia.
