Mongolian team performed historic best in AFC Futsal Championship. The biennial international '2017 AFC U-20 Futsal Championship' was held in Bangkok. The Mongolian team won against the Chinese team and got qualified for the knockout stage. After scoring 3:1 points against a Chinese team that is ranked 9th in Asia, the Mongolian team booked a historic moment at the last game. In the 'group D', the team won against United Arab Emirates’ team with 3:5 points. In an interview the head coach Erdene-Ochir Sandagdorj said that qualifying for the knockout phase means so much to the Mongolian team starting a new chapter in the history of Mongolian football.
