World Women Parliamentarians’ Forum Concludes in Ulaanbaatar
The forum concluded with a call to strengthen women’s influence in political decision-making.
The two-day World Women Parliamentarians’ Forum concluded in Ulaanbaatar on October 13, bringing together nearly 150 delegates from 32 countries to discuss strengthening women’s political participation and leadership.
Held under the theme “From Representation to Influence in Decision-Making Process,” the forum focused on gender equality legislation, women’s leadership, supportive environments, and international cooperation.
In her closing remarks, Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh emphasized that women’s representation alone is not enough; they must also have a meaningful role in shaping legislation, setting priorities, allocating resources, and overseeing implementation.
Participants adopted an outcome document outlining four priorities: increasing women’s representation in decision-making, strengthening their influence, creating supportive environments for women leaders, and advancing international cooperation. The document will be submitted to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and relevant United Nations bodies.
